Field trip to Kroger

Shea had a difficult time focusing with all the residual excitement over national make a hat day coupled with a magnet kit that we are doing some science experiments with. But I have a difficult time not allowing him to explore these things. We are learning how to learn after all.
We've been reading the book "Holes" together.
It is so good! I am very excited that my kids are old enough that we can check out books from the library that we can all read and enjoy together.

Hershey is like Shea's "little lamb" who followed him to school one day. He sits outside wishing he could come to school too.

Tierney is very excited that she is learning to write her name!
Here she is displaying one of her best tries on the dry erase board. She will be going to kindergarten and she better get "learning" or she'll be way behind the preschool kids. (if there was a sarcasm font....that statement would be typed in it) LOL!

The missionaries stopped by today for a meeting with Kevin. It was perfect timing. They wrapped up their meeting just in time to do "Faith in God" class with Shea and Mylee. The quizzed them on the articles of faith and Mylee and Shea could recite the first six! I think they were better than the elders to be honest. (don't tell them I said so) haha

For lunch today we had macaroni and cheese and green beans. Whenever we buy 2 liter bottles of pop the kids "call it." Shea ran in dollar general and bought this and a diet coke for me so he got to have it when it was almost gone. Hence the random fanta bottle in the lunch picture!

Today we had a field trip to Kroger with our homeschool organization. It was surprisingly fun. Miss "Lori" was our tour guide...you can see Maelin's little pony tail in this picture...of course Tierney is way up in the front buried in the crowd.

The milk cooler was a definite favorite. They got to peak through the shelves and see people shopping for milk from the aisle. The only part of the store cooler than this was the freezer!

Shea and Mylee and Liam split up and went with the older kids. Here they are taste testing cheese in the deli. At the end all the kids received a caprisun and chips ahoy cookies. It was a success. Oh, and if you are wondering we once again stole Liam and let him come with us! I think my kids loved this field trip because I normally strategically plan my grocery shopping ventures late at night when they're in bed! I don't want one to end up in the milk cooler on a day they're not invited! LOL
